Veteran's Day.
think: saving lives
protecting the counrty
risking there lives for others

What more do you need to see the importance to honor the veterans who honored us with their lives and sacrifices?

I love to read. I have read so many books it's hard to choose a limited number of authors i would prefer over another. Anyways, I enjoy Nora Roberts, Omar Tyree, Sister Souljah, Eric Jerome Dickey, and Sabrina Jefferies. i think the more appropriate question to ask is what type of books I like to read. It would be easier to answer. :)

I used to, along with my ma or another, sit on our old worn porch and watch the rain fall. It was refreshing and relaxing; sometimes we just sit in silence and watch, at other times we'd reminence. I rememer how the dew dropped onto the leaveless tree that sat in the front yard. It looked as though diamonds had hitched onto the branches. They sparkled luminously.........that's what rain reminds me of.

Robert Frost: Asking for Roses
A house that lacks, seemingly, mistress and master,
With doors that none but the wind ever closes,
Its floor all littered with glass and with plaster
; It stands in a garden of old-fashioned roses.
I pass by that way in the gloaming with Mary;
'I wonder,' I say, 'who the owner of those is.'
'Oh, no one you know,' she answers me airy,
'But one we must ask if we want any roses.
' So we must join hands in the dew coming coldly
There in the hush of the wood that reposes,
And turn and go up to the open door boldly,
And knock to the echoes as beggars for roses.
'Pray, are you within there, Mistress Who-were-you?'
'Tis Mary that speaks and our errand discloses.
'Pray, are you within there? Bestir you, bestir you!
'Tis summer again; there's two come for roses.
'A word with you, that of the singer recalling--
Old Herrick: a saying that every maid knows is
A flower unplucked is but left to the falling,
And nothing is gained by not gathering roses.
' We do not loosen our hands' intertwining
(Not caring so very much what she supposes),
There when she comes on us mistily shining
And grants us by silence the boon of her roses.
What does it mean to you?

Last weekend I actually volunteered for the BBQ Festival. Well it was on Friday but I consider that part of the weekend. My job was to assist the judges, I showcased Bbq sudmissions, set tables and ran errands. Around 4 on Friday, the Pep clud including myself boarded the bus with the cheerleaders and went on our way to Val to attend the games and support the Trojans, unfortunately it wasn't a victory for US. Saturday I spent the day with my sister, we went to a women's conference at Golden Corral-- learned more about how we should live and have God in our lives... and stuffed ourselves. Later on that night my sister and I kicked at the movies with a couple of friends. We watched Paranormal Activity and screamed the entire time (I hate ghost-based movies). Sunday I went to church and we had the last day of our Move of God Women's Conference, it was awesome!....... that sums up my weekend.

Love Poem #8
Never Have I Fallen
Your lips speak soft sweetness
Your touch a cool caress
I am lost in your magic
My heart beats within your chest
I think of you each morning
And dream of you each night
I think of your arms being around me
And cannot express my delight
Never have I fallen
But I am quickly on my way
You hold a heart in your hands
That has never before been given away
- Rex A. Williams -
